Director of the Kosovo Hydro-Meteorological Institute (KHMI)-KEPA/MESP

Graduated Engineer/MSC of Technology at the University of Pristina, Faculty of Geo-sciences and Technology – Department of Technology (1993/2012). Specialized in the field of “Management, Organization and Activities for Air Quality Monitoring” in the Regional Environmental Protection Agency (Regional Prevention and Environment Agency of Emilia-Romagna, Italy – RPEA, 2003).
Work experience as a leader of the Chemical-Technological laboratory in the Shock Absorber Factory in Pristina (2001-2003). From 2003 she started working at MESP/HIK in the position of “air quality specialist” (2003-2014) and then she was nominated (selected) for the position of Director of the Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo. Her activities and responsibilities are related to the planning, maintenance and development of HIK laboratories and national hydrological, meteorological monitoring networks, air quality, surface and groundwater as well as soil quality, through which laboratory analyses and state-level monitoring of the above-mentioned components are performed. She coordinates the activities in early warning, forecasting and public information and relevant institutions regarding weather, climate, hydrometeorological phenomena and air and water quality.
She establishes regional and international cooperation with counterpart institutions in the field of meteorology and hydrology and with potential donors. She is the contact person for Kosovo in the network “European Flood Awareness System (EFAS)” which deals with the forecasting and early warning of floods for member states of this network, part of which is Kosovo/HIK. She coordinates the activities in Component IV, “Establishment of a network for groundwater monitoring” of KEP and national experts in the preparation of GHG inventory for the Industry sector. She represents Kosovo in the steering committee of the regional project for “Integrated cross-border management of the Drini basin”, implemented and funded by GEF/GWP-Drin Core Group. She is a member of the steering committees and expert groups for projects related to my activities and responsibilities
