President Caka – Nimani received in a meeting the new head of the EULEX Mission in Kosovo
The President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Gresa Caka – Nimani, received in a meeting the new Head of the EULEX Mission in Kosovo, Mr. Giovanni Pietro Barbano.
After welcoming him and wishing him success in his new position, President Caka-Nimani made a brief presentation regarding the Court’s work so far, the current challenges in its operation and the commitment made in building professional capacities and consolidating case law of the Constitutional Court.
The subject of the joint discussion was the recent developments in the constitutional judiciary of Kosovo and the necessity of consolidating the legal framework for the protection of human rights and freedoms based on European standards.
Mr. Barbano appreciated the work of the Constitutional Court so far and expressed his commitment to the further contribution of the EULEX Mission in strengthening the rule of law in the country.
